CIRAD is a research center “not like others”. Inherited from a long history, it is an innovative and original French public organization. It defends an agricultural science that crosses borders, that is open to the outside and respects people, territories and the environment, to address the major development issues of developing countries.
Mandate: CIRAD works with these developing countries to generate and pass on knowledge and innovations to support agricultural development and meet the major challenges of agriculture, environment and food.
As a targeted research organization, CIRAD considers partnership as a fundamental component of its scientific strategy. It bases its operations on development needs, from field to laboratory and from a local to a global scale.
